From a single pub cookoff in Reading to a nationwide championship circuit, the UK Chilli Cookoff Association has been at the heart of competitive chilli cooking in the UK since 2010.
Founded by Jon Doody and fellow chilli enthusiasts, the UKCCA was created to bring the spirit of American-style chilli cookoffs to the United Kingdom. Following the success of its first event at the College Arms in Reading, the organisation rapidly expanded, partnering with chilli festivals and food events across the country.
Today, the UKCCA has seen hundreds of teams compete in sanctioned cookoffs, helping to develop a thriving community of cooks, judges and chilli enthusiasts. For some competitors, success on the UK circuit has even led to the opportunity to compete internationally, representing the UK on the world stage in the United States.
